Just as the sea ebbs and flows, we also experience alternating periods of extreme activity and also extremely calm moments here on the coast and in the shops.
That's why we'd like to welcome you to our brand-new webshop. This way, we're always available. For a while, we sold our items through our social media channels, but the lack of a webshop became too great, so here we are!
Our "Alfons" story began in May 2017. As a driven duo, we enthusiastically ran a brand-new lunch and coffee bar. Fresh pastries, specialty coffee, healthy lunches, and homemade drinks. We were ambitious and worked incredibly hard for our dream. We quickly became a regular haunt for many locals and second-home owners. People still talk about it every week. ;-)
Right from the start, we did everything ourselves, all together. Occasionally with the help of a few kind student workers. It was incredibly hard work for very little revenue (or rather, profit), as it turned out after a few years.
When the coronavirus crisis hit and we were closed for almost 10 months, we had to flip a switch. We had to chart a different course, change tack to survive. I don't need to tell you how many tears were shed, resulting in many sleepless nights. The stress also took its toll physically, but hey, this isn't a sad story! We emerged from it all stronger and wiser.

In April 2021, we launched Alfons "2.0," as we sometimes call it. We kept the name because we lacked the inspiration to come up with something new at the time. ;-)
Our second passion has always been fashion. My grandparents and mother owned a shoe store for generations, and we always loved shopping and fashion. We wanted to add to what De Panne had to offer. We filled the void we sorely missed.
After a few months of intensive renovation, we transformed the coffee bar into a cozy boutique.
And so Alfons Concept Store was born .
A boutique for real women who love to look comfortable yet fashionable. Ready to wear with a little something extra.
I would dare to say that we specialize in "mid size" but very soon a "plus size" brand will be coming in that we really have a good feeling about!
We're excited! Making you feel good is ultimately our goal.
We both completed a color and style consulting course in 2023, so we're always happy to help you shine even brighter. Feel free to pop into our store or shop from the comfort of your couch, and we'll take care of the rest!
